KERUGOYA MP STORMS POLICE STATION TO REPOSSES BHANG

There was drama at Kerugoya Police Station Saturday
evening after the area MP and residents stormed the station
to repossess bhang confiscated last week. The Kerugoya
Central MP Gachoki Gitari demanded that the bhang, which
was reportedly nabbed during a crackdown on illicit brew
last week, be returned to its owner at Kiriathi village. Also

to have been in a saloon car, which was towed to the police
station. It took the intervention of Kirinyaga Deputy
Commander Charles Ontita to calm the situation, which was
getting out of hand as the MP dared the police to shoot him
saying he will not stop demanding for answers. Gitari
claimed that the bhang, which had allegedly ‘disappeared’,
was sold by the officers, allegations that Ontita denied
arguing that the vehicle was empty. Ontita said
investigations would be launched to unravel the truth of the
matter, adding that any officer found guilty will be
prosecuted.
